With a strong footprint in the Indian tourism market, the “Greek Luxury Tourism Workshop” concluded in Mumbai, bringing together 117 leading Indian travel agents and tour operators, confirming the high level of interest in Greece as a destination for luxury and authentic experiences.
It is noted that the event, organized by Tourism Media & Events, was held with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, highlighting the strengthening of Greece’s presence in the rapidly growing Indian market.
At the core of the event was the enhancement of tourism ties between Greece and India, with the workshop serving as a bridge for professional networking between leading Greek tourism businesses and destinations and Indian travel agents and tour operators, strengthening prospects for new partnerships and the further attraction of visitors to our country.
During the discussions, the issue of the visa issuance process was also raised, as it continues to prompt questions among Indian professionals. It was emphasized that simplifying and accelerating the relevant procedures could prove to be a decisive factor in increasing travel flows to Greece.
Following the completion of the B2B meetings, presentations were delivered by the Region of Crete, represented by the Head of the Tourism Directorate, Mr. Nikolaos Alexakis; the Region of Peloponnese, represented by Ms. Paraskevi Gialou; and the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, represented by the Head of the Business Support Office, Ms. Lena Stefanoudaki.
The event was attended by the Region of Crete and the Region of Peloponnese, while its implementation was supported by sponsors including Enterprise Greece, AEGEAN Airlines, Fraport Greece, the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, the Chania Chamber of Commerce, and Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos.” The media sponsor was Tourismtoday.gr.
It is noted that the “Greek Luxury Tourism Workshop” in Mumbai marked the launch of Tourism Media & Events’ international events program for 2026, with the next “Greek Tourism Workshop” scheduled to take place in Ghent, in a market of strategic importance for Greek tourism, on March 24.
