Barcelona is one of the most famous cities of Spain. One of the reasons of course is the football team Barcelona.
Trip
We went from Athens to Barcelona with Vueling Airlines. We bought a ticket for the local transportation in the city. It costed around 25 euros for unlimited routes within 3 days. It’s a big city and it is difficult to walk around all day. Buses arrives at stations almost 3-4 minutes.
Where to stay
Hotel Barcelona GO
In the heart of Barcelona you will find this hotel with beautiful modern rooms. The stuff was very polite and helpful.
It is surrounded by many bus stations and the metro is only 5 minutes away.
What to see in Barcelona
Sagrada Familia
The huge romeo-catholic church, designed by Antoni Gaudi is the trademark of Barcelona. Every year million tourists from all over the world visit the church. It is a UNESCO World Heritage.
The construction started at 1882 and it isn’t completed yet. Is expected to be completed at 2026, at 100th anniversary of the Gaudi’s death.
The ticket is a bit expensive (around 30 euros) and it is valid only for the main area. If you don’t want to get inside, you can admire the unique architecture from outside.

Arc de Triomf
Arc de Triomf is one of the most amazing sightseeing of the city. It is a majestic monumental and it is located at the perfect spot to take a ride with a bike.

Parc de la Ciutadella
When you will get cross Arc de Triomf you will reach at the most beautiful park of the city with lakes, ducks, trees, flowers and statues.
Cascada Monumental
In the park, you will find this incredible monumental, to take some nice shots!

Cathedral of Barcelona
At Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) you will find the amazing Cathedral of Barcelona. The building is unique and it’s better in real life than photographs. To my personal opinion, it’s not worthy to pay an entrance to see the inside area, because it doesn’t anything special.

La Rambla
Walk at the most popular and big street in Barcelona but be careful! It’s also a “famous” spot for thieves.
Mercado de la Boqueria
In La Rambla you will meet this huge close-market with the most tasty juices. They have a big variety of sea food, meat, cheese and sweets. You should definitely visit this market.
I tried a fresh juice with mango and orange and I ate hammon with cheese.
Font De Canaletes
At La Rambla street you will find this special sink. Fill your water bottle, eves as a souvenir. According to legend, if you drink the water, you will fall in love with Barcelona and you’ll return one day.

Mirador de Colom
Where the port meets La Rambla it’s this beautiful statue. Visit is for some great photos.

Aquarium
The aquarium is perfect for children and adults. Book your tickets earlier online to avoid the crowded lines. The ticket costs 20 euros per person.
You can even swim with sharks if you want. My favorite part was the penguin area.
Barceloneta
You can’t travel to Barcelona and not visit Barceloneta Beach. Go in a sunny day and enjoy your day! Take a bath if the weather is good and go for a walk at the road with the palm trees.

Casa Vicens
Casa Vicens is the first house of Gaudi. Beautiful and unique.

Parc Guell
Park Guell is quite impressive and it’s a “must”-visit in Barcelona.
Go early to avoid the crowds and book online your tickets.
Magic Fountain
Magic fountain is a spectacular show, which combines water, light, music and water acrobatics.
You should go early, during the sunset to take a seat.

Camp Nou
It’s obviously that Barcelona is one of the most famous part of the city -and the most commercialised.
You must visit Camp Nou, especially if you are a football fan. We had already booked our tickets online from Greece (around 25 euros) and we skipped the line.
The tour began from the museum of the team. We saw unique pieces from the establishment of the team. After this we went to the trophy case, and the Champion League’s cups. You can also admire Messi’s golden balls.
When you finish from the museum tour, you visit the incredible stadium. It’s breathtaking. You can go at the seats, at press booths, the team bench, the conference room and at the guest team’s locker rooms.
You can purchase a more expensive ticket in order to get access in Barcelona’s locker room. With the most expensive ticket you have the ability to walk in a specific part of the field. When you finish the tour, you will arrive to the gift shop.

Where to eat in Barcelona
I don’t have to recommend a lot of restaurants, because we didn’t meet many good restaurants. We chose some places near tourist attractions and food was so expensive and they didn’t deserve it.
We bought tasty food from Boqueria at La Rambla Str and from some local bakeries.
NBA Cafe
The only restaurant I will recommend you is NBA Cafe. It’s one of the most unique places I have ever visit. Basketball fans are gonna love this! The perfect time to visit this place is during a basketball game. You will watch the game at one of the many televisions at the walls.

What you need to know before your trip in Barcelona:
- Barcelona is huge. If you want to visit all tourist attractions you have to stay at least 4 days.
- It’s hard to walk the city, but Barcelona has very good public transportation. Except for metro, there are everywhere bus stations. Bus schedules are so often, approximately every 3-4 minutes. The best option is to buy a ticket for unlimited passes for 3-5 days.
- Don’t choose restaurants next to famous locations, like Sagrada Familia. They are too expensive and the quality isn’t good. They definitely take advantage of tourists. You should prefer places, where locals choose to eat.
