The best pizza shops in Athens
Granello
In a simple and extremely stylish place in Athens (18 Perikleous 18,105 62) you will find authentic Neapolitan pizza with traditional fresh ingredients.
Their wood-fired oven is custom made in Naples and they make the dough daily with natural sourdough.
You’ll definitely try their garlic breads, but also their Prosciutto & Funghi pizza with san Marzano sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, gorgonzola and smoked pancetta.
Malconi’s
In Kolonaki (23 Plutarchou 23, Athens 106 75) you’ll find Malconi’s, which has won Athenian’s heart and beyond since 2011. All pizzas are baked in a special oven that combines gas and wood.
I would recommend you try the Truffle pizza with truffle cream cheese, smoked mozzarella, Portobello mushrooms and fresh truffle.
If you want to try something a little more special then go for the Avocado pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, avocado, artichoke, lemon zest and chives.
The Eatalians – Mario & Luigi
In Ilioupoli (190 El. Venizelos Avenue, 163 41) you’ll find The Eatalians – Mario & Luigi named after everyone’s favorite Nintendo game.
Here I’d suggest you get the Beatrice pizza, with beef brese ragu, mozzarella fior di latte, san Marzano sauce, Reggiano parmesan and Ricotta cheese.
As a second choice, I suggest Victoria with parmesan cream, fresh truffle and parmesan flakes.
Valteziana
In Exarchia (41 Valtetsiou Street, Athens 106 81) you will find some of the best pizzas in Athens, baked in a traditional oven.
At Valteziana you can try the delicious pizza margarita and the Funghi & Parmigiano with fresh mushrooms and parmesan. For something more special you can go for the Stracciatella & Spianata with tomato sauce, stracciatella cheese, Italian salami and olives.
If you have room for dessert, you can also try their tiramisu!
Cupola
In Pagrati (13 Evforionios 13, Athens 116 35) you will find Cupola, which since 2017 has been taking you on a journey to Italy with its flavors.
I would recommend you to try the Tartufata with fresh black truffle, mozzarella, tartufo cream and baby arugula.
Alternatively choose the Parma with mozzarella, prosciutto, San Marzano tomato sauce, grana padano and arugula.
Brunello
Brunello from Athens (21b Loukianou, 106 75) takes you all the way to Italy with its delicious pizzas, pastas, etc..
Don’t miss to try pizzetti with wild mushrooms and fresh truffles. For those who like spicy foods, I recommend Pizzeti with picante salami, onion, provolone and chili jam.
