Where is Aidipsos?
Adipose is a village in the prefecture of Evia and the local seat of the Municipality of Istiaiaia – Aidipsos as established under the Kallikratis Programme. It is located 4 km north of Loutra Aidipsos and 110 km northwest of Chalkida.

Thermal springs of Aidipsos are perhaps the most famous destination in North Evia. The spa town of Aidipsos has been known throughout the world since ancient times for its thermal springs and the therapeutic water that gushes from the bowels of the earth. In recent years it has evolved into the largest tourist resort where visitors arrive from all parts of Greece to enjoy their thermal baths.
In today’s Aidipsos there are dozens of large hotels, offering high quality holidays while at the same time you can enjoy aesthetic programs in the modern Spa facilities of the hotels. The area is of great interest in archaeological finds and religious tourism is also booming due to the monasteries that exist in the area.
In the hydrotherapy centre of the Hellenic Organisation of Tourism, the visitor will have the opportunity to enjoy thermal baths, both in the outdoor and indoor pools and baths, as well as to admire the archaeological collection, with findings from the excavations in the surrounding area.
The springs of Aidipsos are more than 80 and have been known for at least 20,000 years! Their water temperature starts at around 70 degrees.
Legend has it that they were created after Hephaestus struck the earth with his hammer at the urging of the goddess Athena, who asked for hot baths in order to stay healthy at all times.
