Ferryhopper has found the cheapest ferry routes to 11+1 islands for 2025, with tickets ranging from just €5 to €20.
Argosaronic Gulf
Poros from €5
The islands of the Argosaronic Gulf remain consistently affordable, with ferry fares starting at just €5. Specifically, you can take the daily route from Methana and reach Poros in just 30 minutes. Alternatively, tickets from Piraeus to Poros start at €17, with the trip lasting about an hour.
Aegina from €10.50
Aegina is by far the most popular quick getaway, thanks to its proximity to Athens (just 30 minutes by boat), beautiful beaches, and traditional charm. Ferries start from €10.50 for Aegina Town, €11 for Souvala, and €19 for Agia Marina. Over 40 hydrofoils and conventional ferries depart daily from 6:30 AM to all three ports on the island.
Hydra from €11.50
The cosmopolitan island of Hydra, with its historic mansions and picturesque alleys, is just a breath away from the Peloponnese. Tickets from Ermioni start at €11.50, with up to two departures per day and travel times of 20–30 minutes. Alternatively, you can reach the “Lady of the Argosaronic” from Piraeus, with ferry prices starting at €30.
Cyclades
If you prefer the classic white and blue of the Cyclades for your summer vacation, there are many affordable options from Lavrio port in southeast Attica, with ferry tickets starting from €10.
Kea from €10
Tickets to Kea (also known as Tzia) start at €10, with up to 8 daily departures. According to Ferryhopper’s search engine, the journey from Lavrio takes between 40 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the ferry type.
Kythnos from €15
Kythnos, with its stunning beaches and dramatic landscapes, is just over an hour from Lavrio. Tickets start from €15, with up to 5 daily departures. Both conventional and high-speed vessels operate the route, with the first ferry leaving at 8:15 AM.
Syros from €18
You can also travel from Lavrio to Syros, known for its impressive architecture and idyllic beaches. Ferry tickets start from €18 for the route to Ermoupoli, the island’s main port. The trip runs 2–4 times per week and takes around 5.5 hours.
Ionian Islands
Routes to the Ionian islands are equally affordable, whether you depart from Igoumenitsa, Kyllini, or Laconia.
Corfu from €7
From the port of Igoumenitsa in Western Greece, you can take a ferry to the iconic island of Corfu. Tickets start at just €7, with over 30 daily sailings. The journey to Corfu Town or Lefkimmi takes 1.5 hours and 50 minutes, respectively.
Paxi from €7
The lush and charming island of Paxi, with its Venetian influences, is connected to Igoumenitsa at least once daily. Tickets start from €7, and the conventional ferry ride takes approximately 1.5 hours.
Zakynthos from €13.50
The famous Shipwreck Beach on the “Fiore di Levante” is closer (and cheaper) than you might think, with ferry tickets from Kyllini to Zakynthos starting at €13.50. The route is serviced up to 6 times daily, with the trip lasting about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Kythera from €9
The unique island of Kythera, with its beautiful beaches and rich history, is just 1 hour from Neapoli and 2 hours from Gythio. The Neapoli–Kythera route operates 1–3 times daily with ticket prices starting from €13, while tickets from Gythio start at €9.
North Aegean
For those seeking alternative holiday experiences, the North Aegean islands offer authenticity and affordability, with ferry tickets starting from €16.
Samothraki from €17
From Alexandroupolis port, it takes less than 2 hours by ferry to explore the wild natural beauty of Samothraki—full of waterfalls, springs, gorges, and natural pools. The Alexandroupolis–Samothraki route runs 1–2 times per day with tickets starting at €17.
Lemnos from €16
If you’re after a lesser-known island destination, Lemnos is a great option with affordable ferry connections. Tickets from Kavala to Lemnos start at €16, with the journey lasting around 4 hours. Usually, there are 1–2 sailings per day.
