2023 is here and along with the new year, new goals are coming and travel enthusiasts are already making their bucket list with destinations in Europe and beyond.
The past year has undoubtedly affected many travellers, as circumstances caused the cancellation of several trips. A glaring example is the Russian invasion of Ukraine which resulted in Europe cancelling flights to and from Russia. As a result, many missed the opportunity to visit Moscow etc.
Airport strikes in Europe have also had a very serious impact on travel, as this summer thousands of flights were cancelled and even worse thousands of suitcases were lost..
So with the arrival of the new year, it’s time to make our bucket list for 2023 with a little more “safe” destinations. Safe in the sense that you’re not going to find yourself in a war zone (hopefully) and things at airports are finally in order.
But which destinations are we going to travel to? Seretravel.com suggests you five places in Europe you should visit in 2023.
5 destinations in Europe for 2023
Bucharest, Romania
One of the places you should definitely put on your list for the new year is Bucharest. The capital of Romania is one of the places you shouldn’t miss for many reasons. One of the most important ones is that it is a very affordable destination.
You can find many affordable and beautiful hotels and you can also find cheap flights with low-cost airlines. Bucharest is a beautiful destination that many call it the “Balkan’s Paris” because it has a similar Arc de Triomphe.
From Bucharest you can plan day trips to Dracula’s Castle and Transylvania.
Need another reason to visit Bucharest? Near the Romanian capital is the castle where the famous Netflix series, “Wednesday”, was filmed.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
If you want to travel somewhere in Europe in the spring of 2023 then you should choose Amsterdam, Netherlands. But why during spring months? For the tulip festival of course, which usually starts in March and ends in May.
There’s no more ideal spring trip than planning to visit Amsterdam and organise a trip to the beautiful fields with millions of tulips spread out everywhere.
London, England
London is an all time classic destination in Europe for all seasons. Ideal months to visit would be September for good weather with fewer tourists than in the summer, or December to enjoy the magic of Christmas to the fullest.
There are plenty of activities to do in Britain’s capital city. Walks in Hyde Park, shopping in Harrods and a visit to the Natural History Museum are just a few of the countless options you have. If you decide to visit London don’t forget to take a proper charger adaptor!
Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen is one of those destinations that aren’t at the top of your list, but when you visit it, you’ll love it. The Little Mermaid statue, the walks in beautiful Nyhavn and the lush parks make the Danish capital a super destination in Europe to go to in 2023.
To be honest, Copenhagen is not one of the cheapest places you can find, but it undoubtedly deserves a place on your bucket list. In 3-4 days you can get around the whole city and if you have time, take the train and do a one-day trip to Malmö, Sweden too!
Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland is one of the top destinations in Europe. It’s a place where you can discover beautiful natural landscapes, such as the Blue Lagoon with its geothermal spas and the magical Skaftafell ice cave.
One of the reasons why Iceland should not be missing from your travels in 2023 is the northern lights, Aurora Borealis, the ultimate dream for travel enthusiasts and beyond. It is undoubtedly something you should definitely see once in your life.
